September camper van escapes make a lot of sense!

We don’t want to wish the Summer away – but we’d always like it to last a bit longer!
There’s so much to try to fit in, and sometimes getting out and about through holiday traffic, and battling the crowds at the beaches just isn’t quite what you were hoping for. If you extend your Summer into September you can have the benefit of warm, sunny days, balmy evenings and warm sea without the holiday crowds, high ticket prices and queues. Sounds good hey?
If you hire a VW California camper van, you could head somewhere you’ve always fancied seeing, take an epic road trip, escape with the little ones or camp out somewhere quiet and peaceful with your partner. Follow the ‘Tour of Britain’ cyclists as they head towards Cheltenham…
If cycling is your thing then why not book a camper van and a bike rack from Kamper Hire and head off to the Cotswolds to catch up with the Tour of Britain cycle race. Taking in some lovely picturesque villages including Charlbury, Bourton-on-the water and Moreton – and ending up at Cheltenham on the 9th September – you’ll get to see some top cyclists in action, have the opportunity to go for some fabulous bike rides and stay in comfort wherever you fancy along the way. The Cotswolds is crammed full of fantastic pubs and restaurants as well as wonderful old-world charm. Well worth a visit if you haven’t ventured that way before – or even if you have!
Enjoy September in the Channel Isles…
The Condor Ferry from Poole can whisk you away to the beautiful Channel Isles – and with a camper van from Kamper Hire you can pickup from our Poole HQ, catch the Jersey or Guernsey Ferry – and then explore once you get there with a camper van route to suit. There are a couple of additional things to do before you depart, including getting a permit (as there is a limit to the number of camper vans allowed on the Isles at any one time) but once you get there, it’ll be worth it as a camper van is a great way to get about. As well as its’ very own climate, unspoilt beaches and wonderful wildlife, September in the Channel Isles offers a whole array of things to do. On Jersey, visit the Zoo, take a RIB ride, sightsee by kayak or explore the bunkers. On Guernsey wander through La Seigreurie Gardens, enjoy a gig from the Cobo Bay Balcony or take a guided walk through the town.
Talking of walking, the East Yorkshire Walking and Outdoors Festival takes place from the 7th -15th of September…
Held in the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds there are activities to appeal to families, casual walkers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. For something a little more cultural, how about heading to Lancashire and experiencing beautiful Bronte country?
There are lots of organised tours and plenty of sights to see along the way, from Haworth, to Halifax to Hebden Bridge, and if you’re a dyed-in-the-wool Bronte fan, the Bronte Parsonage Museum has a captivating collection of memorabilia. Contrast this with a trip to see the vibrant Blackpool Illuminations and and explore the Lancashire Coast with a visit to Lytham St Annes and you’ve got the beginnings of a brilliant holiday.
If you’d rather stick to the South Coast, September is still a superb time for a camper van getaway. The New Forest beckons with fabulous attractions like Beaulieu Motor Museum and Moors Valley and if the sun stays around, there’s the nostalgic Lymington Baths to take a dip in?
Alternatively, the Isle of Wight is a wonderful place to explore by camper van.
Wander around historical Osbourne House, visit the donkeys at their sanctuary or catch some classic cars at the IoW Car Festival.
