Hi Folks! We cannot say enough about how great our experience was with Mark and Kamperhire!!!!! Every aspect of our trip: picking us up at Gatwick, showing us the van details, connection re. insurance while in Ireland, returning the van and taking us back to London.... all were terrific!! The van had only had one trip before we took it so it was shiny new and you can imagine our nervousness on those narrow roads with his brand new gorgeous van. We consider Mark a friend after our association and are pleased to assist! If you are sleeping in the type we had, one tip.... we moved the mattress pad from the upper bunk to the bed in the cabin each night, to make it more comfortable.
Just a quick note to thank you for the level of service that we received during the whole process of our hire. It’s a pleasure to deal with a ‘real’ person in business as there are fewer and fewer of us about as time goes on!! We had a really great time and will definitely be purchasing a van this year. Thanks for letting me see the other model but after discussing it with Ellen and again trawling the websites we have decided that it is a California that we want. I would be grateful if and when you are looking to dispose of one of yours that you could give me a call to discuss what sort of arrangement that we could come to. We would be interested in all colours but the Navy Blue ( don’t ask!……..it has nothing to do with the van that we had). I hope that the rest of the season treats you well and there is always the possibility that we will have another ‘fix’ before the summer finishes, if for any reason you need to move one before the end of the season then the same applies. Excellent value. Quick and easy pickup and drop off. Excellent Van's, well looked after new models have every gadget you could need. Very comfy and drives well.

We looked at some cheaper rental companies but realised they’re cheaper as the vans are retrofits. With Kamper you get the real McCoy. In our case it was a brand spanking new VW Ocean! As always the VW is always a joy to travel in. I can't say enough about travelling through the UK in the camper, nothing tops it.
We've just returned from an amazing few days in one of Kamper Hire's immaculate, brand new, shiny California Oceans. The whole experience was great, Howard gave us a very comprehensive run through of all the van's features and was contactable throughout the trip for any questions we had. Would definitely recommend. Big thanks to Howard and Mark.

We have just completed a five week campervan tour of the United Kingdom. The outstanding service we received from Kamper Hire with unexpected good weather throughout made for an unforgettable experience. His fleet of VW California vans are new and offered in “showroom” condition. In addition Mark went out of his way to accommodate our needs for which we are truly grateful. His attention to detail and service enabled our 3200 mile journey to be totally trouble free. His choice of vehicle (VW California) allows one to use normal vehicular parking even in the tiniest of village as well as explore the narrow and winding back roads. So whether you are looking for a Bank Holiday weekend trip or undertaking a long tour, we would recommend Kamper Hire without hesitation. Our sincere thanks go to you Mark.
Fabulous experience. We headed off to the Peak District for a few days of adventure. The children loved it, especially the great big top bunk bed! As experienced campers we loved being able to arrive in the fading light and not have to pitch our tent. Once we worked out the jigsaw we spent many hours around the table playing games, planning our days and even building a magtile campsite complete with kamper. Brilliant vehicles to drive both on the windy country lanes and the motorways, loved being high up above everyone. And finally thanks to Mark for such a fabulous van. Definitely tempted to do it again.

Just handed our hired camper back after a long weekend away. What a fabulous experience, booking was very easy, communication first class, Mark couldn't be more helpful. If you're thinking of hiring do it now and don't use anyone else. 10/10.
Brand new campers, great price and excellent customer service. What's not to like? We will definitely be back.
We are a family of 5 and wanted to do something different for our holiday this year, so we hired a VW Beach from Mark at Kamperhire. He helped us with our many questions and we set off on our 10 day coastal tour of South West England and South Wales. The van was in fantastic condition and drove more like a people carrier than a van. We stayed at 7 different campsites, with pack-up taking around 30 minutes each day. Our young daughters really enjoyed the van life I am now seriously considering buying one. The customer service from Mark and Ian was first rate. We took advantage of the airport drop-off service which was painless and meant we could maximise our last day.
The VW we rented was almost brand new. The vehicle was in show room condition and laid out perfectly for touring around comfortably. The diesel engine was extremely good on fuel on our 4000 km journey through the UK. Mark was very easy to deal with and runs a top notch outfit. Highly recommend.
18 wonderful days free to travel or stay. No fixed timetable. Comfortable and economical. Had a great time and would recommend to anyone. we are ready to do it again in 2018!

If you are looking for a VW Camper experience, we cannot recommend Kamper Hire enough. Mark was helpful and accommodating from start to finish, the van was immaculate, and the whole experience was superb. The only problem is, it has left us wanting more.
Our initial enquiries re the hire of a van for touring in the UK were met with prompt, efficient and friendly customer service from Mark. Subsequently we hired and picked up our 4 berth Californian for two weeks of wonderful camping. The van was in excellent condition, clean, well equipped and a pleasure to make our home for the fortnight. As well, the great customer service continued during our trip, with any questions we had met with a speedy response. We could not have been happier with our van and the customer service provided and cannot wait to do it again. In short, we had a great experience with Mark and his company KamperHire. We were in Wales last June representing Canada at the Commonwealth Fly Fishing Championships in and around Llandrindod Wells. We flew into Heathrow and Mark delivered the California VW camper van to us at the hotel. After a quick run down on all the features of the van, we were off to Wales on schedule. The vehicle was in tip top shape, and had additional features that we hadn’t expected (you gotta love those Germans!) On returning to London, after a very successful competition, Mark came by bus to the hotel to pick up the van, and then dropped us off at the Air Canada terminal for our flight home. All in all a great trip made even better with a seamless transaction on the van. (attaching a few pictures for fun). Again, Mark was very business like, organized and efficient in all our dealings with him.
If you are wondering should you hire a bigger motorhome or the more compact Campervan for touring, I can tell you I am so glad we chose the Campervan, it goes anywhere, you can park in towns, just like a car, drive down narrow streets and not be restricted, making your touring holiday more enjoyable. The larger motorhomes have to park on the outskirts of town and are often not allowed to park at the "Park & Rides" as well. And why did we choose Kamperhire, simple, those little extras I did not have to worry about were all included in the price, plus pick up and drop off to suit us - real service, we were really treated as the customer, I would certainly use Kamperhire again. Easy e-mail contact direct with Mark made everything easy. BTW, the above statement is true, another camperhire company would not accept return of the campervan on Fri 29th April as it was a public holiday, so they were not even an option, they asked if we could return it the next day, a bit useless as our flight was the Fri evening. I have attached some photos, I don't think you will use them all, but there a couple of good ones I think you might like.
We are an Australian Couple in our mid 60s who spent several months on holiday in UK during 2006. We have relatives and many friends in England and wanted to be able to visit them easily, do a lot of sight-seeing and have the independence of our own accommodation whilst travelling around. For many years we owned a campervan in Australia and used it extensively to travel long distances, quickly, during our holidays from work. From this earlier experience we understood, very well , the value we would get for our holiday money if we could self-cater and self accommodate whilst travelling in UK. Previous holidays there had made us aware of the cost of living on the Australian dollar, the motorways, roads and narrow lanes, tiny villages, towns and large cities. Therefore we were familiar with the varying conditions while driving and parking in these locations. Kamperhire in Hampshire had just the vehicle for us; a VW T5. We found their website gave detailed and correct information and answered all our questions about their fleet . The vehicle was very well prepared and when we picked it up, we were given a thorough induction on how to pitch the roof and use the camping section . The VW T5 campervan we hired was extremely well appointed and kitted out, it was very easy to drive, economical to run and extremely comfortable to cook, eat and sleep in. The compact size of the T5 was ideal for all driving, parking and camping conditions. We are keen now to do a similar holiday in Europe.
Just wanted to make sure you got the message that we'd had a great time away in your kamper.I know we couldn't have managed our time as well and done so much any other way. Thanks also for making sure everything went so smoothly both picking up and dropping off - thankfully we didn't have any breakdowns and not even a flat tyre 😉 I'll be sure to pass your name on to anyone who sounds remotely like they're thinking of doing something similar.And if we're over your way again, be sure we'll be in touch. Van was absolutely spotless when we collected it, had everything we needed. Great demonstration of how to use it, and it was in perfect working condition. Collection and drop off were made very easy for us. I will definitely use them again when we need want a van holiday. Highly recommended.
Friendly and helpful team, and a lovely collection of vans in fantastic condition available. Unfortunately I had an accident in the van I recently hired but Howard was very understanding and I was well looked after. Everything was dealt with professionally and with no issues. I would recommend this company to anyone wanting a camper van experience.

From the moment we found the site to passing back the van it was superb. Firstly the van was in excellent condition and just what I wanted to experience. Howard and his team couldn’t have be more helpful nothing was a problem. What I liked most about the trip was his approach to service in that he tried to make it easy as possible for the user ie return up to 3pm gives you so much flexibility ie return the van with same amount of fuel not having to fill up close by. All in all a great experience my only grumble was that we had to travel from York to the site please open up in Yorkshire Mike Annie & Max (the lab)

Hired a van for a weekend of camping with the family in Wales. Loved it; van I hired was a brand new T6 California Ocean, in mint condition. I would be happy to recommend to anyone looking to rent a camper.
We were both very pleased to have hired a camper from Kamper Hire. It was beyond our expectations. We have our own camper at home and have also hired interstate and overseas and with this experience we can well and truly recommend you hire from Mark. Don’t let the pickup point (out of London) be off-putting. You will be picked up from the airport and delivered to the depot. Along the way you get an introduction to the finer points of driving in the UK and your starting point is in the beautiful countryside and not in the city traffic. The vans are new. Ours was its first time out! They are a dream to drive and well appointed. Best feature (apart from the diesel fuelled heater) was the bed with plenty of room for two adults. We don’t think there is any better way to see the UK. We made it to all the furthest points of the Kingdom and everything in between. The size of the van is important. Many of the roads, parking bays and bridges are narrow and a larger vehicle would have been most uncomfortable to drive and would have prevented us from reaching some places. The vans are also incognito, no blaring stickers advertising you are a tourist. We looked like locals, well almost. Kamper Hire made the whole transaction easy (which is not always pleasant when hiring a vehicle). Any concerns we had about hiring a vehicle on the other side of the world were put to rest with plenty of support, backup and honesty from Mark. He made it easier than hiring from your local car hire company. Many thanks to Mark and his team. We will be back. Regards,

Sorry it’s taken so long but had to send you a huge thanks. Mum and I were lucky enough to have one of your vans for 3 and half weeks around the UK in August/September. What a find. It saved us money being able to self-cater. Found some fantastic camp sites. Van drove like a car and had plenty of get and go being turbo diesel whilst being very economical. Also easy to park in busier places because of its size. Took it across to Ireland on the Ferry which was easy. Mum, most importantly found it easy to get in and out of being in her late 60’s this was important. Best camp site we found would have to be Concierge Camping at West Ashling. www.conciergecamping.co.uk/about Although would advise other campers to stay here last as you will be sadly disappointed at other places J. Last but not least gas bottles for this van in Ireland can be found at camping shops such as Barton Smiths Sports or Call of the Wild in Sligo – took us a bit to work this out!! But thank you for the quality of the van and equipment and also the ease of dealing with you. Hopefully see you again next year with my hubbie this time. Cheers
We rented a VW Californian from Kamper for 21 days recently and could not be happier with the van, the service and the Company generally. From the time of initial email contact, all the way through the purchase decision-making and payment arrangements to delivery of the vehicle at the agreed time and it's return, we have found Mark to be responsive, professional and helpful. His service standards are A+ and should be an example to the rest of the industry. The vehicle itself was perfect for the two of us. It was only six months old, in perfect condition and met all our needs. Our personal preference would be to include a microwave, but apart from that, the vehicle delivered everything we needed plus more. It also drove well and we achieved good fuel economy averaging around 35 to 40 mpg. We have been very happy with Mark and his Company and would definitely use them again if the occasion ever arises. Kampervan is a great company to hire with. This is our third time hiring with Kampervan over the past few years and as per usual, a great service with impecable vehicles along side the highest of specifications. With the pick up point available in Poole, Dorset, it made tour latest trip even more efficient for us. The van was only a few months old and was immaculate, the company staff are all great to work with, hence our repeat custom here. Many thanks to Howard, Jeremy and Mark.

We rarely write 5 star reviews, but we just finished an extra-ordinary and fab weekend in one of Kamper Hire's beautiful Ocean vehicles which we took to St Davids and parked by the sea = total freedom and awesome to wake up to! We collected with ease - Howard is super friendly and did a full run round which only takes 10 mins - and then we were on our way. We are yachties, so we are used to small spaces and we were concerned that hubbie at 6 foot 5 " would struggle, but there is surprisingly loads of room once the roof is up and the tables outside under the awning. For even more privacy, we encircled the van with a wind break, so we had our own garden :). Everything inside the van was spotless, and it has all the latest tech such as ApplePlay.. you just need to bring duvet and pillow, wine and teabags! It's easy to drive and reverse and sits happily on the motorway, even with two bikes on the rack. We love, loved, loved it! Thanks Howard and team,
First time for hiring a campervan from anywhere and Kamper Hire were perfect for a weekend at the end of Sep 2018. Easy pickup, almost brand new van, very helpful run through of the van, easy drop off and very helpfully posted back a few things we left in the van.

Very pleased with the vehicle provided which was an automatic VW California. It was well presented, everything worked as it should do and we enjoyed our week in it. In fact, the whole process of renting the vehicle was easy and worked out just the way stated on the website. The support provided by Howard was also very helpful for a first time user and we have no hesitation in recommending Kamper Hire.
A sad moment in handing back the keys following a wonderful 5-week holiday in UK and Europe. Kamper Hire provided the best wheels ever in an immaculate California Ocean T6 complete with all necessities in making the holiday as care free and trouble free throughout. Mark, a true gentleman met us at Heathrow Airport and following brief overview and necessary paperwork, we were on our way. The T6 was a pleasure on the road, economic yet powerful while nimble and easy to handle. Camping likewise was a pleasure whether rain or sunshine in the well designed, compact interior. All up, VW have again excelled in a thoroughly well designed camping package which complimented with Mark and Kamper Hire, make a formidable team! Highly recommended and once again thank you on a most memorable holiday!

An amazing week. We loved our Van. Booking was so easy and Mark was friendly and really helpful from start to finish. We toured South Wales and Cornwall, finding great campsites on the way. Our van had all that we needed, really cosy and a fab base for exploring. We really didn't want our trip to come to an end - we even contemplated kidnapping the van! Best way to travel is in a campervan, and Mark from Kamperhire could not have been more helpful. The campervan was immaculate and was superb to drive and live in. We had breakfast most mornings at Cape Cornwall watching the seabirds especially the gannets having theirs. Will be hiring again from Mark and have no hesitation in recommending Kamperhire.

We've hired a California from Mark a couple of times in the past, and were so impressed with both the fantastic presentation of the van and Mark's absolutely top class customer service that we decided to buy one of his vans this year when we retired. It's been one of our best-ever decisions! Mark goes above and beyond to make sure that his vans are really well prepared, and to help his clients get the most from their hire experience. It was exactly the same when we bought one of his used vans. It was immaculate and looked as good as new, and is giving us so much pleasure as we travel around the country and abroad. My only advice is to not to wait until you retire to buy ... Do it now!

As a repeat customer for Kamperhire we were delighted to take delivery of a brand new T6 California Ocean for the three month winter rental. The van, as before, was immaculate and well equipped. The booking process and interaction with Mark was very professional and tailored to our needs. We covered 3,800 miles over several weeks with the van and ventured to some of the most remote parts of Scotland including the NC500 route around the far north coast. The van performed brilliantly and even on the odd sub-zero night, the heating in the van kept us comfortable. A really memorable trip for which the VW California is ideally suited. Just a note to say thanks again for all the arrangements you made for our Kamperhire van, including the to and fro to Heathrow, and the hospitality at Wallops Wood.. We really appreciate it, and had a wonderful time, and saw some wonderful places. It is so easy to get to Ireland, and the people there are so friendly and helpful. We also had a lovely time on the Isle of Mull, visiting Iona and the island of Staffa. And at no time did we ever feel that the van was too cramped or inconvenient. As for your question to us on our last day, as to whether we would return…….we would love to, and Mil feels very comfortable driving, but was much more relaxed in the auto! Of course in three year’s time, we will be three years older………so let’s see how things are going by then!
I was walking on the Cornish coastline at Mawnan in January, discussing with my sister -in-law, my husband Ian's, and my aspiration to acquire a camper van in September, on the occasion of my early retirement. She and her husband own a LWB transporter that has a bed frame and a bucket! They travel everywhere in it and enjoy it immensely. I explained that I wanted a slightly higher level fit out. On our descent back into Falmouth we came across a couple proudly displaying their Kamper hire California to their friends. My sister-in-law was intrigued to see inside so we were also given a tour round. The van had such clean lines and cleverly thought out layout. I was smitten and, on my return to the Midlands, I checked out the Kamper Hire website and, with some discussion with Ian, we booked a week's hire in April. Booking was easy and straightforward. We were met by Mark, at Wallops Wood farm, and he took us over the detail of the van's functions. A very friendly handover with gentle guidance of the does and don'ts. Off we went for a week travelling the Aires and vineyards of France. The van was a delight to drive and comfortable to journey in, even for me with a broken leg! Mark had put a comfort mattress topper to enhance the comfort of the bed. We were so cosy at night, and in the mornings we opened up the awning and enjoyed breakfasts in the great outdoors. The van performed equally well on narrow hilly terrain and on the autoroutes. Ian was duly impressed, as he hadn't seen the van on the walk in Cornwall. On our return to Droxford, Mark told us that he had some vans for sale. We returned a week later take a closer look. Mark was so helpful and now, Two weeks on, (a bit sooner than we expected) we are now proud owners. From a chance encounter with a Kamper Hire van in Cornwall, to the start of a big adventure with our new California!

Our Kamperhire holiday in 2007, was one of the best and most relaxing holidays we have ever had, Mark was very polite and helpful and spent plenty of time familiarising us with the Camper van before we set off. The T5 vans are maintained to the highest spec, and were in pristine condition inside and out, and thoughtfully stocked with all the items you need for a hassle free holiday. We spent an enjoyable 2 weeks touring Northern Scotland, the vehicle is perfect to explore remote places in comfort, even on hundreds of miles of single track roads in the far north, it never felt too big and was a joy to drive. Once you have tried this style of travel and the freedom it gives you, you will never want to go on a conventional holiday again..if you enjoy the outdoors you will love this way of getting out there.. we enjoyed it so much we have now bought our own T5 Camper.
We've had many travel experiences around the globe including renting a 1982 VW van in southern California but nothing can compare with our experience with Kamperhire. After conducting an internet search we located your site and were immediately assisted with our vacation plans. Your description of the vans matched perfectly with what you provided. While having the steering wheel on the opposite side and driving on the "wrong" side of the road seemed normal to you, I appreciate the time you spent helping me feel comfortable with the van.
