Hiring a campervan is the perfect way to explore all it has to offer in your own time and at your own pace. Here are some recommended top spots and activities to experience on your vw camper experience.

Campervan breaks in the New Forest

No campervan trip in Hampshire would be complete without immersing yourself in the beautiful New Forest national park. Spanning over 500km2, the New Forest has so much to offer with its ancient woodland, open moors, heathland and cliff top walks.
A visit to the New Forest Heritage Centre (link) in Lyndhurst will take you back as far as WIlliam the Conqueror, and offers plenty of fun activities, art gallery and gift shop for all the family to enjoy.
If you haven’t already packed your own bikes on your campervan, you can easily hire some at Brokenhurst’s Cyclexperience (link). With all-day parking available nearby, there is no need to travel in anything other than your campervan to get there.

Discover Lymington town and Keyhaven

Just a 30 minute drive away along the A337 you will arrive at the picturesque harbour town of Lymington. With a beautiful cobbled highstreet leading down to the harbour and onto the spectacular ‘sea wall walk’ along to Keyhaven village, you can explore one of the UK’s prettiest nature reserves, with stunning views across the solent and the Isle of Wight. Slightly further on from Keyhaven you will find the famous Hurst castle, built by Henry VIII in the mid-1500’s. Walk to the castle situated at the end of Hurst spit and you will feel like you are within touching distance of the Isle of Wight.

Urban urges? Get to know Southampton city

Southampton is a port city on England’s south coast. Rich in maritime heritage, Southampton is famed for its association with RMS Titanic, and is where the cruise liner left from on her ill-fated maiden passenger voyage. The city is also home to the SeaCity museum – otherwise known and the ‘Titanic Museum’ – where you can experience the story of Titanic in an interactive and engaging way.
If its retail therapy you want, West Quay should be on your hit list. Straddling the north and south sides of the city, West Quay is a modern and vast retail centre, home to John Lewis.
There are plenty of large car parks in and around Southampton, including at West Quay, so parking your campervan while you enjoy the city will be simple and easy.
The Visit Southampton website is great for ideas and there’s a section detailing Southampton itineraries.
