Bruges to Amsterdam - 14 Day Tour
It’s an easy hop in your Campervan from Calais to get to the canals, tulips and windmills of the lovely Netherlands. We’ve put together a beach, lake and canal-filled itinerary for you to make the most of Holland’s big friendly welcome.
The Dutch border isn’t far, so meander up exploring islands as you go or take off to arty Rotterdam. Then head to Delft, famous for the stunning blue and white Dutch pottery you’ll want to take back. On to The Hague and its handsome, tram lined streets. Scheveningen is the beach resort the locals flock to just nearby, with great camping past the dunes that hug the North Sea. If there’s sunshine, it’s a perfect spot, with wide stretches of sand and buzzing beach bars to watch the waves. Make sure you fit in a Simones fish fry. It’s the place to go for fish and chips, Dutch style.
Hug the coast for camping spots and you won’t be disappointed. Nordwijk is just up from Leiden and then it’s north towards Amsterdam. We don’t recommend driving the car into the city. Camp in your campervan just across the water from Central station and the whole of Amsterdam is on your doorstep.
Next up it’s time to kick back in Beerze Ommen – an area of outstanding natural beauty complete with its own wild swimming lake. After some serious R&R, the upmarket beach resort of Bloemendaal calls. Make time to visit pretty Haarlem – visit in spring and you’ll get to enjoy the Keukenhof tulip gardens, too. Check out Kennemer duincampings.
